Vinesauce: Quality Content

For this month’s project, I decided to dive directly into something I’m pretty self-conscious about — animation. Nothing makes me feel more stupid than Adobe After Effects (unless, of course, we’re talking about income taxes), so I’ve been spreading my wings into the program to try and figure things out on my own. Tutorials are helpful, but I’ve found the late-night, eye-burning, pushing-the-struggle-bus-through-the-mud, make-it-happen has been my greatest teacher.

I decided to (finally) create some stream artwork for one of my favorite YouTubers/Twitch streamers, Vinesauce. In 2018, I did some pretty cool artwork for another streamer on the Vinesauce team, Joel, so I wanted to do something with my skillset for Vinny this time. (I also previously posted a blog featuring an unofficial re-brand and site design, but I don’t want to come off as the total fangirl I absolutely am.)

Here it is! Vinny streams late at night, so I wanted to do something a little bit dark and moody, but incorporate his signature color palette, as well. I had high hopes of adding all kinds of Easter eggs and shoutouts to my favorite games and Vinesauce memes, but I kept finding that simplicity and subtlety were making this piece what I wanted in the long run.

For my third (?) ever custom animation, I’m very, very happy with the way it came out. This is by far my most adventurous endeavor into character animation, and I’m excited to keep building this skillset as time passes.

Here (s)he is! Ole Binyot delivering some pizzapasta with your quality content. *Chef’s Kiss* *Copious Italian Hand Gestures*

If you need a good chuckle, check out Vinesauce on a Sunday night. You’ll find me there, staring and laughing, just as confused as you are.

And with the annual charity stream, Vinesauce is Hope, starting tomorrow, please check it out and help us raise funds for The Pediatric Cancer Research Fund!
